video on the crisis in darfur?

I am doing a video on the crisis in darfur and I would love some ideas on how to start the video with something catching or dramatic. I want something a large group of high school students would be interested in instead of looking straight back on their cell phones and text messaging....thanks!

Perhaps you could try to communicate the terrible death statistics in the Dafur crisis by using comparisons to other events that have been covered by the media (perhaps some from your own country, whichever it is, making it more relevant to the students). It´s thought that around 400,000 people so far have been killed in the conflict. If you were American you could show footage from Ted Bundy court trials, Columbine massacre, Oklahoma & McVeigh, 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina (these are just random examples), and explain that for every one death in all these tragedies combined, there have been around 90 deaths in Dafur (or however the maths adds up, perhaps using large figures on the screen), to communicate the size of the Dafur fatalities in an understandable way. If you´re British, the same thing with British history, etc. etc,ie: try to make the death toll less abstract and easier to grasp. I´m saying this as I´m always surprized at how little the Western media covers such large-scale events in comparison to disasters or conflicts in developed countries, such as North America or Europe.

You might start with HOW LONG the Darfur situation has been around.
Christians have been aware of this for decades but it has come to the fore since a celebrity visited. How come? You can research some Christian missionary sights like Voice of the Martyrs or Trans world missions.
