Shouldn't someone tell them that the style that they think is SO cool was started as a way for homosexuals to identify themselves in prison?

D. L. is correct in his statement that having your pants pulled down in the back is a "come-hither" used by homosexuals in prison societies. And I have told some of the "kids" with whom I have had the opportunity to express those same sentiments but peer pressure is a powerful force.

Wow I wonder about that sometimes. You are absolutely right it did originate in prison as a denotation of a recieving prisoner. It's ironic how it has become such a cultural phemenom in an often homophobic world. I sometimes think to myself, "if only those kids knew..."
*EDIT* Wow Thanks Tegarst I stand corrected. I did honestly believe (for the person who gave me a thumbs down) that was the origin of saggy pants. Just goes to show how false information can become fact if repeated and heard enough times.

Very few young ones now would care, even if that were true -- which of course it isn't.
I must admit, people like you fascinate me. Why make that up? Do you genuinely believe it? If so, what was your source of information? I would be fascinated in seeing your citations. I would be surprised if they aren't wingnuts.
