Courtesy on the hold is on the decline in every aspect of life these days.
The customer is always right means nothing to people who wouldn't earn a living if it wasn't for the public.

All black drivers drivers have to pass The Knowledge to get their Hackney licence. However, The Knowledge only teaches them the best way to get around London. Courtesy is not a requirement to pass The Knowledge.

I hesitate to think of the place you get this impact from. at the start, there are particularly some Asian black cab drivers - i'm getting the impact maximum have been born in Britain. Mini cab and private hire drivers do no longer would desire to bypass the Met. Police examination, and that's for this reason a miles greater open field of employment. although, do no longer assume, via fact a guy or woman is from an ethnic minority, that they seem to be a contemporary arrival - a huge share of the ethnic minority inhabitants of London have been born there!

The only time I've encountered a rude or unhelpful one is when I myself have been in a foul mood and was a bit rude to him. When I realised how silly it all was I apologised to the driver and from that moment on I had the best ride and most intelligent and interesting conversation with him all the way to my destination.
Point being this: If you don't treat them like dirt, they'll respect you for it and repay your courtesy.
