Dunno because I never saw it first hand. I do not know if the average black South African is better off now or then but I am guessing probably now though it looks like eventually everyone there will starve as the economy crumbles.
In America we fought hard to remove segregation so that all people could live together in harmony, but what we seem to accomplish was that once blacks could live and work anywhere they moved into areas together and assault anyone who comes there. They might be practicing apartheid. Dunno

we need to keep em in their place....just kiddin...actually, it is as bad as religious fundamentalism...it doesnt do anything to uplift civilization or a people or culture as a whole...thats probably why its not in fad in south africa anymore...however, i have been hearing reports that the pendulum has swung so far the other way that the white farm owners are being kicked off their farms and those farms given to associates of the new gov't...and the worst thing is that the new owners are not farmers and therefore the production has went down over 80% in the region..which could lead to a famine...so there are things to overcome in all situations of change...
