There are many versions of the Bible and I can't remember what my version is but I'm sure it's right for whatever purposes I use it for. I just know it's the one my Methodist Church gave me.

You know you're query is going to get a lot of Christians upset.....But, here goes: Genesis Chapter 6 of the "Old Testament" speaks of a coupling on Earth between "Sons of Gods" and the Daughters of mankind.

Yeap...."GODS" plural.

The samarians had the epic of gilgath or gilgoth something like that were they had their own Noah's ark story and their own giants (nephilim) story, Then Enoch was suppose to have a whole book on the giants, but it was excluded from the bible because they were not sure if it was written by him. Has for other civiliazations, I think you will find more theories on what they were such as aliens bredding with women, satan breeding animal DNA, or Eve and Satan breeding then you will find cultural stories. Actually other cultures have Noah's ark stories then giant stories.

Wiccans and Pagans don't have a Holy book such as the Bible. We create our own sacred books called a Book of Shadows where we record our Rituals, Spells, Journals, Herbal Lore and such.
However, in my youth, I was taught that the Nephilim were the sons of gods (or angels) who mated with daughters of man and their offspring were the race of giants. It's in Exodus or Dueteronomy. although this has been a long time ago and I really wasn't payng a lot of attention.

Search for a book online called the book of Enoch. Do you know who Enoch is? I imagine you do. Sons of god came down and bred with women, They created offspring- Some bibles say these offspring were heroes, Others just say men of renown, the later is right. The flood of Noah was brought on to destroy the Nephilim. There's much more description given in Enoch, and it discusses how the Nephilim taught men many things, like metal work, medicing, makeup, etc.

The Nephilim are not fallen angels, but the children of fallen angels and humans. The bible also states that not only were they around before the flood but after it as well. They went by other names, Emim, Rephaim, and Anakim. Outside the bible in the Book Of Enoch, we are shown that the fathers of the Nephilim are chained in some sort of prison. They are also mentioned in the Jewish books of Jubilees, Judith, Sirach, Baruch, 3 Maccabees, and Wisdom Of Solomon. As far as I know they are not mentioned in other holy books in other religions (not directly). I say that because in other cultures you have stories that mention "heavenly" creatures or "gods" mating with women (Ex. Greek myths). Some such as Zecharia Sitchin believe that the remains of Neanderthals are really Nephilim.

Wiccan do not have a central holy book. However there are some legends of nephillim or creatures like nephillim in strega. I believe the "queen of the witches" in strega was born of a female and an angel.

Your book is wrong. You need to also get a good definition of "Nephilim". The actual meaning is in serious debate.

Nephilim is the actual name. They are the fallen angels
