Are the songs from the 90s better than the songs of today?

what i mean is like in the 90s the music was great because it talked about things that were important and every singer was role model to young people i might still be a teen but i believe that artist today should bring back the tasteful music to everyone because all the music today is about sex!!!! and thats why our world is so messed up!!!! dont you think that the media today should change?

i dont mean only the 90s but all the music before NOW!

The music before the year 2000 was great like the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s all those years were great but now everything just has me asking "what ever happen to the good old days"

YES YES YES!!! Today's world has gotten into this rut of singing or rapping either about sex or something stupid like your teeth or jewelry. It's discomforting to think that they've run out of things to sing about, that now they have to tell us in a three minute song about their teeth or car. What happened to where they sung about just good old fashioned love, instead of how someone broke up with you so they're gonna destroy that person's life. Artists need to realize that they are ruining our society by telling people everywhere that it's okay to have someone in your life and cheat on them whenever they have a whim to do so.

No the people should change the media is only going to play what they think the masses want to hear for me the music is total garbage I enjoy most forms of music from hip-hop, rap, rnb gospel alternative country soft rock top40 just about it all. I never listen to the radio at work only because I do not have a choice. I can hear the same songs all day long. In the 90's the music was better but only in the first half of it during the last half of it it was the same garbage that we hear today. We have a responsibility to the media not the media to us, so as long as we stay voiceless then expect the same to continue. There are a lot of underground stuff that's hot but u will never know it unless u seek it I haven't given up on music just the garbage radio stations.

Yes the 90's had some really great songs,i recken as the years are going on the songs are getting rubbish.The media today should change,all they think about is that sex sales,so that's how they promote the songs these days.

I agree the 90's were awsome. Todays music is such a bad influence on our youth. Look at teens like Rhianna singing about "make me hot all over my body" and young girls look up to these type of preformers. Its totaly sad, when I was a teen my parents though GNR and Def Leppard were bad but they havent heard nothing yet.

agree totally, in the 90's music was so much better, now its all about making money and how many albums, etc u can sell. Its not about the music at all anymore

♥i love some of the music from today but, i agree with you that this rubbishy R'n'B stuff with lyrics like...
"i don't wanna control ya, i wanna console ya"
should be burnt.

also, that absolutely awful 'music' that sounds like some hamster slowly being strangled should be demolished.

apart from that, the real talent of today is brilliant.

having said that, the 90's did have some very fun songs, i prefer todays though.
