She probably got tons of stuff for the baby at her shower so skip a gift for the baby and get something her for. When I got home from the hospital I loved having the flowers that people gave me. Since the only alone time mom will have is durring her shower how about a face mask and pampering shower gels to make her feel "alive" after those long newborn nights!

A cute outfit or sleeper that fits him right NOW. A lot of people don't have much clothes small enough to wear on the baby in the hospital and on the way home. That's a great gift. And if you want, just buy something bigger that he'll fit into later, he will grow really quickly now.
Most people give clothes at the hospital, or bring in a fruit basket for mom to snack on.

Give something for her, not for the baby. She'll be getting baby gifts for a very long time and i'm sure she'd appreciate a nice personal gift. How about a robe or something like that?

I believe present enjoying cards for a chum - consistent with probability ones for a garments keep she likes so as that once she's ditched her maternity issues she might desire to purchase herself some thing beautiful. Or, consistent with probability a voucher for a spa or beautician that she might desire to flow to one afternoon some weeks after her infant arrives at the same time as the newborn's father/grandparents/different relative did some bonding, and the place she would be able to chill out and get a ruin. the final provides I ever won for my infants have been books - lots of folk delivered me a replica of their commonly used e book as as infant or a infant's e book that had a undeniable meaning to them. I definitely have a neat little library outfitted up now, and it is lasted (and could final) a good distance longer and been extra significant than a tiny little outfit or toy could have. sensible sensible issues like muslins, wraps and garments are additionally solid, yet your chum might have already got a super sort of those.

My daughter just had a baby boy and someone brought her a nice baby blanket to the hospital with the baby's first and middle name and date of birth embroidered on it. She loves that blanket and uses it every day.

A cute teddy bear for the baby and/or a spa giftset for mom. If she is going to be breastfeeding, get her a breastfeeding pajama gown with matching robe - I got a few of them and I loved them! Most people brought my son little outfits or stuffed animals or flowers.
