,when you experience pain it releases endorphins which makes you feel 'good' hence arousal if in the right situation.
i mean if you hit your thumb with a hammer you aren't going to g feel sexy.... but a spanking in the bedroom might.

You can't make yourself get aroused by pain, either you are or you aren't. Most of the world, thank goodness, is not.
I think the ones who do get aroused are a bit on the twisted side, but that's just me. If both parties consent to that then who am I to say it's wrong?

For some people, it must be psychological (a mental health condition possibly brought on by post-traumatic stress from some incident in childhood or something). For others, it is like a fetish. How do you explain someone loving to suck on toes, etc, etc.??
Personally, I believe that this is a personal choice on the part of the person. You either are, or are not aroused by physical pain.

I used to be a sexual masochist and was aroused by being hurt but then I recovered memory of my childhood and terrible sexual abuse and that arousal went away. I guess my seeking pain with sex was my way to work thru the trauma I had lived thru.I don't believe it's psychologicly healthy to tie as deep an issue as sex with pain ever.

Spanking is kinky because it is a part of the body to an exaggerated extent to animate how that part would look during sex. It does not need to be "painful" extent like some take it because of the more exaggerated conditions for a more desired effect.
Pain does release endorphins but, most people become sadistic from abuse as a child and have an inability to take sex without pain. Sex is often a true color for people who can freely exhibit through fantasy conscious or unconscious desires that may be negative in normal nature.
People use pain to dominate and submit to the others. It can be the raised adrenaline levels. It can also be the person does not want to climax too quickly so they use pain to keep longer sex acts for extended periods of time.
Someone people cannot find pleasure without conflict as a result to prior experiences in life. It is often a game or tool people use to gain someones interests who want to experience the unknown or conform to a stereotype to seem "cool". Pain and endorphins are not meant for that kind of use and reap more damage than benefit.
People who like to be kicked in the "area" like to be humiliated. It's a comfortable thing for them and rarely practiced by common people. Some people like to be cut, suffocated, beaten.
The act of sex is often a fantasy scape for otherwise unspoken desires or unique memories of prior experience with people who've they've experienced those acts with. People will sometimes invent new acts to rid the personal connection to sex itself. From things like rape or being humiliated by performance.
The Kama Sutra is kinky. S&M are not healthy ways to enjoy sex and can sometimes result in death. Like asphixiation, bondage, etc...

I think they are sadistic. I am not sure how they get like this but somewhere along the line they have been introduced to this kind of pleasure and to me it is sick.
