I have had 6 children and yes with my first baby I waited the 6 weeks but after that I think the longest I waited was 3 to 4 weeks. So don't stress on this try to have sex and if it hurts then wait a little longer.

I had sex 3 weeks after my last one. It wasn't the most comfortable at first. When I admitted to my doctor that we had sex so early, he just laughed and said that he and his wife never waited for the 6 week mark either. He said it's more of something doctors just go by as a general rule. However, you can have sex when you've stoped bleeding and feel up to it. Don't rush into it if you're not feeling ready. Also, make sure it's gentle sex as your body is still trying to heal.

When I did it with my son, I thought that I was going to bleed to death. lol

I waited only four weeks, and my husband and I had sex. I woke up that morning, and I had bled through the mattress. I stood up, and passed a blood clot the size of a grapefruit. I know that it's gross, but my doctor told me that I had busted a stitch open.

I would wait that six weeks, if I were you. Some women can get away with doing it before then, but then again, you could deal with what I got to deal with (by the way, the doc had to put another stitch in there, and I had to wait four MORE weeks).

you could get pregnant again, especially if you don't use a birth control. But i think the main reason for the doctors advising against having sex before 6 week's after giving birth is to make sure you have healed inside and so you don't start bleeding again.take care and congradulations on your new baby.

It's better to just wait it out so your uterus can go back to its normal size and to prevent any infection, or even getting pregnant. Yes, you can get pregnant again shortly after you have a baby. I know girls that didn't wait it out and they were fine, but I did wait until my checkup because I had a c-section, and I think me holding out for sex is worth me getting being healthy and letting everything cool off.

My daughter did that and boy do I hear the "mom, I cant do anything...he cant do a thing because he/I have the kids up our ...."
They are now preschool and wow! Not a minute peace from day one twelve to twelve!
Did I mention that she/they did not wait to have the ob/gyne visit at
eight weeks and is raising the two kids and him, plus going to work? I can actually say he is useless and lives only for his original two kids...
Your life will be awful with not being able to enjoy the first kid. My opinion and am experiencing it

You turn into a pillar of salt.

I think you're not supposed to so you can heal from giving birth. If you do it too soon then there is a chance you could not heal correctly or as fast. You could probably safely do it if it's been close to 6 weeks but they tell you not to for a reason. So do it at your own risk.

You don't have to wait for the full 6 weeks. You should however wait until your stitches are healed. And unless your partner is really brave until you stop bleeding. And even then make sure your partner is vert gental.

Your body is still healing on the inside and you are risking being exposed to infection. Of course, you are also risking getting pregnant again when your body is no where near ready to take that on again so soon. I don't even no how people can think of doing it so soon. I was torn up for months after delivery!
