Make a big book/folder, and fill it with pictures, memories, and thoughts that you have gained from your life so far.

Draw pictures and write about them, what you where thinking at the time. Make sure you write about each item you have included in your project and why you have included them, this helps you gain more marks. Art teachers are usually impressed by books packed full of all different things. The more full the better.

Use plenty of mixed media such as tissue paper, newspaper, oil pastels, acrylic paint.

Even cut out different pieces of material, reffering to clothes you like to wear and other things that make up your identity. Try filling a few pages with collages of the things you like.
Just use your imagination.

Good luck i hope you get top marks :]

Well, it could be a physical journey -moving home/moving country etc and how it affects/affected you. Or, it could be more of a mental journey -like the changes you go through growing up, or have you had any experiences that have made you change your opinions on a certain issue?

You might also choose something you are not familiar with, or maybe something you dislike, and use the project to learn something or 'challenge' these ideas.

As to what ideas these could be, they could be taken from a personal experience, or based on social issues affecting people today (anything from global warming to homelessness if you wanted!)

Hope that gives you some ideas!

You could base it on Aboriginal art. It has a tradition of using symbols to portray a journey, be it spiritual or mundane. You could use its forms to depict any major events in your life or any plans for the future you may have. Stuff about you that is definitive or important.

To see some examples of aboriginal art, see www.lumaluma.com

If you prefer something more modern, you could do a Pop Art style comic strip based on yourself. Alternatively, if you are good at portraiture, you could make a series of self portraits of yourself at various ages using family photographs as a basis.

Hope this helps & good luck with your exams.

How do you see yourself?
Can you do a drawing of that?
Howabout then drawing a picture of where you want to be?
& putting the 2 together,
making it more interesting by adding another dimension?
Would adding another drawing
of what you are trying to avoid be too heavy?

Or, do a painting of yourself, (cut) in segments i.e. seperated into building blocks?

Or a long & winding path, leading away, with gates & cross-roads?

what makes you think we know what GCSE stands for?
and it sounds like this is a project
i wonder why you would ask about something so personal
are you afraid to face something about yourself?
