I have a boy cousin named Robin. He is now about 50 years old. Batman and Robin was a popular TV show when we were kids and I know that he sometimes was asked things like, "So, Robin, where's Batman?". Oddly enough, he married a woman whose name was also Robin, so that was kind of different. She calls him Rob. When we speak about them, we call them he-Robin and she-Robin, but otherwise, I don't think he's had any real problems with his name. Like other cross-gender names (like Pat, Chris, or Terry) when people see his name written, they usually think it is a girl. I don't see anything wrong with naming your son Robin if that is what you like.

I have a friend named Robin who is a boy. It's not a bad name once the child is grown up. But I think he will get teased through school for having a girl name.

I like Robin for a boy and I also like Stacy for a boy. The problem with names like those, although they're traditionally male, most people associate them with females. If I was substitute teaching in little Robin's class and he didn't answer right away when I was calling role, I'd ask if anyone had seen HER today. The class would start laughing at your son's expense.

My unkles name is Robin, but everyone just calls him Rob anyway. I don't mind the name, with all of the new different names out there, I doubt he will be made fun of.

I think that Robin is more of a girl name. I think it could also go as a girl name, but I would probably never name my baby that. I am so sorry if I hurt you feelings, but I am only being truthfull. I mean it is your opinion what you name your baby, but I would never name my baby boy that. Good Luck

There was Christopher Robin in the Winnie the Pooh books. And a character on "Cheers" was named Robin, he was Rebecca's boyfriend. So, Robin is okay for a boy name.

I think it's one of those British names. In the USA, I wouldn't use it for a boy. It sounds a little limp-in-the-wrist (not that there's anything wrong with that, but let the kid decide that, not his name), so if that's not what you're going for I'd pick a nonambiguous name.

I know a man named Robin.
We call him Rockin' Robin.
I also have a female friend named Robin and that doesn't seem strange.
I like it as a girls name better.
I personally think it is a fem name and that he could get called names because of Batman & Robin.
