I would probably tap out to the Angle Lock (a bygone name, as it's once again called simply the Ankle Lock). The STF-U would likely make me PASS out instead, as it did to Umaga (albeit on the second attempt, whereas I would probably not even make it through the first application) in the Last Man Standing match at the Royal Rumble.

I wouldn't tap to either. Especially the STFU. Tapping to that is a bunch of crap. Now The Walls of Jericho or the Boston Crab is something that will make you tap.

The Angle lock is very easily to reverse by a rollover.
The STFU is a hold that paralizes both your legs and your arms, you have to be stronger and quicker than your opponent to pull his hands open.
I think the STFU is the best submission of them both.

if it was just regular of each move id choose the stfu but once angle grapevines the hold good god its painful.

I've had some ring time, and both kill your ankle. I don't use either, I use the Katama Hajime(a.k.a. tazzmisson)
