That's NOT a stupid question at all. If you start your period in the middle of the day, that counts as day 1.
And remember, when figuring your approximate ovulation time, you count backwards from the day you expect to start your next period.

If that is a stupid question..then here is my stupid answer (he he) even if you start your period at night you would still count that day as the first day...then about 14 days later you would be ovulating. Because everybody is different you may want to purchase an ovulation kit for the first few months just to see when you are ovulating, after that you will be able to predict more accurately. Good luck !!!

Count the day it starts.
Look into ways to tell you are ovulating as well. Changes in discharge and other things can give you an idea. Good luck!
Oh yeah, just a tip: we found the best way to get pregnant was stop the pill and don't try too hard. Just make love when you want to. It's likely you'll be more interested in sex when you are ovulating anyway (nature's way of keeping us all here) If you work too hard at it you can get stressed, and that makes it harder to get pregnant.

Your first day is the day that you need to wear a pad or use a tampon. Some women have spotting before their period starts, that day isn't considered to be the first day if you don't need to wear any thing down there. So if your period started at 1pm and you needed to wear something and it stained, then you count that day as the first day.

It is day 1.
Good luck...I hope you get pregnant quickly, so you don't have to worry about all this stuff for a while.
I remember when we were going through the same thing....the charting etc. was just way to stressful. Thankfully it only lasted 2 months...(she's 4 now). Hope things go as well for you

It's considered day one. I remember being awake at one in the morning out with my hubby and starting. I went ahead and marked it on the calender as it being the next day because I wouldn't have noticed it until morning anyhow.
If you start at 3:00 pm today, then mark your calander for today. If you start at 1:00 am then mark it as tomorrow.

Yes. It would be day one, and from everything I have read, your best time to conceive is 10-14 days from the first day of your period. Good luck.
