i can see all photos from webpages etc. it just has a cross in the corner when i play them.

You need to unistall flash (even if you have a working version in other places) and then reinstall THE latest version direct from Adobe.
It's a common problem.

Have you got the Flash plug in or it might be shockwave? You usually need that to play videos from things like google and youtube.

i had the same problem with youtube, i did lots of research trying to fix it!!! it might be that you haven't got the latest FULL flash player see links below -

didn't work for me but seems to for a lot of people.
this worked for me - i downloaded mozilla firefox then downloaded the flash thing through firefox and i can now watch videos again (only through firefox though, not through internet explorer).
hope someone else has an easier solution but above is worth a try if not. good luck x
