make a gift basket of inexpensive treats, chocolates, etc and then make by hand some "gift certificates" for things like "this certificate entitles you to one massage" and be creative (or risqué) with things like that.

In case you are actually my husband in disguise I would like my gift certificate to say "this certificate entitles you one house cleaning". Thanks and happy V-day.

I am in the same situation this year as well and will be sending my sweetie a goodie box. Filled with Brownies, Cookies, and all kinds of sweet treats for him. I am making a homemade card as well. Homemade gift baskets are my specialty so I highly recommend them. It doesn't take a lot of money to do something special you just have to think creatively. What about a romantic evening of dinner and a hot bubble bath. I appreciate the though my sweetie gives just to remember that it is Valentine's Day.

make a handmade card that tells your significant other just what they mean to you, pack a picnic basket dinner and have a candlelight picnic indoors. include a coupon books of 'honey-dos' (like a backrub for 15 minutes, running the vaccum, cleaning the bathroom, preparing a bubble bath, etc). You will spend no money if you just use what you have in the house - he/she won't care if basket contains the box of mac -n- chees from the pantry and the last of the apple juice. It will be the thought and the effort that counts. And if he/she doesn't appreciate it- they are a loser and deserve to be dumped!!

Write a poem or love story featuring you and your sweetheart - write about your first meeting or the first time you knew they were the one or you were in love - have a picnic and read it to them or slip in in the mail by way of Loveland Colorado (address the original letter and stamp it and place it in another envelope addressed to
Postmaster
ATTN: Valentines
USPS
Loveland, CO 80538-9998)
It will be mailed from the heart with a special postmark. A special way to show you care and want them to know. Good Luck!

A romantic candlit dinner at home followed by a hot steamy bath, then a massage. Not really gonna cost you anything except creativity and your partner will love you more than ever
