I ordered an item from ebay on December 29, 2006, and the seller did not send the order until January 15, 2007. The seller did not respond to emails I sent, and once the product arrived, it was not as described. The seller stated on the page to "never leave him/her negative or neutral feedback, if there's a problem to email them, and they will fix it"... I emailed them TWICE, with no response, and on top of that, the product was not accurate once it was shipped. They claim to have sent an email stating a "delay in shipping" and blame it on ebay, for me not receiving it. I left them a neutral feedback, stating that the shipment was over 3 weeks late, and that the product was not as described. The seller, retaliated by leaving me a negative rating, with no basis of doing so, other than that they said not to leave them negative feedback, and claiming that i had not contacted them, after acknowledging to me that they received my emails. I paid on time and did everything i should as a buyer

Now my rating has gone down, and there's nothing I can do about the false feedback they left me out of retaliation. The seller has requested to "mutually withdraw" the feedback left for eachother, but I don't know if it's worth doing. Sure I want my rating to go back to where it was... but I don't want to remove the valid comments that I left about the seller... What should I do? Keep my wrongful negative rating, and let future buyers beware.... or just mutually withdraw, even tho I'm right.

I've contacted ebay about this seller, because I am not the only person they have done this to... and the only resolution they give me is to mutually withdraw... or pay $19.95 to have someone actually look at the case... and it's not worth that much for me.

I've left a response to the negative rating they left me... explaining that it was in retaliation.

It kind of depends on whether you sell items on eBay or just buy items on eBay. Negative feedback has a bigger impact on sellers than buyers, since buyers are usually the ones deciding whether to risk bidding on an item.

As a buyer, the feedback other buyers have given a seller is the only indication I get on the reliability of a seller, so I'd say stick to your guns.

It's a tough decision to make if you sell things on eBay. You're hurting the price of the items you sell to make a point. (Although a person who sells a lot of items with virtually all positive feedbacks can weather an occasional negative feedback - in spite of best efforts, there's always going to be the rare instance where the buyer didn't get what they thought they were getting - either because of a poorly worded description or because the buyer just misunderstood it).

You did all you could do. If the seller wants to be a butthead and not mutually withdraw, dont worry about it. Good people who buy and sell from you will read your feedback and see that what that seller put on there was retaliation. I know if I was buying something from you, I wouldnt hold it against you.

Hopefully you have copies of the original emails you sent, as well as the payment confirmation, and the emails he/she sent you.

Report this seller to eBay and provide copies if requested. Also, change you feedback to negative and ask that eBay remove the sellers negative feedback for you.

You can mutually withdraw and then have a friend post a warning on the eBay buyer site about poor customer service and lack of truth in description. That way you get your good rating back and they still get a slap on the wrist. Good Luck!

This type of seller is what gives ebay a bad name.

If you have copies of the emails you sent, and a copy of the add they put on email, take these along with a picture of the actual product and mail it to ebay explaining what has happened.

They've already done thier damage. Do not compromise-sellers like that are disgusting-I think we've all had at least one. They do what they please, and expect the best. Add another comment to your neutral letting buyers know just what they are dealing with. Sellers like this need to start taking responsibility for thier actions.

that's been awhile, yet definite there became. comments should be straight forward, yet that's not. A supplier won't be able to even go away adverse or impartial comments to a customer anymore. weird and wonderful, yet authentic. i wish each little thing finally ends up understanding interior the best for you.

I wouldn't withdraw the feedback - your potential customers will be able to see that you only have that one neg and if they look into it further they will understand what happened.

Can you try contacting Ebay about this? It's not your fault, and you didn't even leave them a bad rating, that's not fair.
