There is no Character named Jo in any Harry Potter book! Jo is the woman who writes the books!
First of all before talking about the many "lessons" Jo throws into her books. Lets talk about the fact that JK's series inspires children to read! All the statics are on a DVD called. J.K. Rowling and The Birth of Harry Potter.
Jo Weaves life lessons into the pages of her books. Of course the main lesson that is constant throughout the book is the ignorance of racism. Though it may seem hidden the entire plot of the books is centered around it. Pure Blood vs Mixed Blood.
Also if you'll notice. Harry potter struggles through a lot of hardships. Though he is sometimes scared. Or wants to give up, He faces things head on. He stands up for what he believes even when he is ostrich sized and ridiculed!
I could go on for hours about how great the HP series is but in short JK Rowling is an amazing author.
Her stories have improved reading in children across the globe.
They teach acceptance, Strength, wisdom, friendship, bravery, loyalty, And many other things that we need in daily life. If you have never read the series then please do not judge it. Pick up some copies at a used book store and try it for yourself! It's not some evil conspiracy to make all the children devils. It's just a really great series of books :)

I think that similar to the Star Wars series, the Harry Potter series spotlights the struggle of good vs evil on a variety of levels. The premise of baby Harry surviving the initial attack of evil because he was protected by a power stronger than evil - being the love of his mother. Harry, like Luke Skywalker, is courted by the "dark side" - and must weigh the costs of losing site of his values. No comment on Jo in Goblet of Fire

•He had taught a lot more ethics than a teacher, that courage and wisdom have no end, that self sacrifice is a great great virtue to win the race, that self pity has not even worth to be called worthless, that “beauty may be a difference in the melanin of the skin, but with bravery differences can be made in our stars”.
• To show loyalty and to maintain friendship.
Parents and God are not required for building a child’s good character but what is required is an intellect and determination like Harry which can never perish. You can always learn that he never betrays but always with his truthfulness and determination he wins, though being like a tiny ant as compared to evil voldemort. Therefore be so good and truthful that people may love you, honor you and that never let them seek opportunities to point your mistakes.About jo I think he likes her.

Learns about helping friends through endangering his own well-being-also standing your ground against adversary. There is no character named "Jo"...I think you mean Cho, the Asian girl that he has a crush on, and that he asks to the ball but she is already going with Cedric. She is just there to show the pivotal point in growing up when you start to look at the opposite sex differently.

the moral value is moslty friendships and trust in ur friends, and to stand up for what you believe in and for those you love. I dont recall anyonw named Jo in the 4th book, were you reffering to Cho Chang? If so she was Cedrics girlfriend and Harry has a crush on her for a while

There is no Jo in the 4th book or movie. I think you're thinking of Cho Chang, who is the girlfriend of Cedric Diggory, the other "champion" from Hogwarts. Kind of funny that you had mistaken Cho for Jo, because "Jo" is JK Rowling's nickname on the fansites.

I see many things of value in the Harry Potter series. It has an active comparison between "childlike" and "childish" (Harry's Circle to Malfoy's). It supports and teaches methods in "Power With" succeeding over "Power Over" processes. It teaches one to risk new things and new ideas so to open one's self to new perspectives and possibilities. It teaches honor, loyalty, friendship, discretion, wonder, integrity, etc ad infinitum. But I'm sorry I don't think I've seen the 4th one yet, so I can't help you with "Jo". I also like that it sees "Magic" as a tool that can be used in very good ways,,, or not... You might see "Witches" as evil, but aren't you being a hypocrite? Isn't Light, Life, Love, Law, Art, Craft, Music, Inspiration, Joy, Communication magic? Don't you want to use these magics well? Harry Potter teaches to reach for your dreams. To grow into them with a circle big and strong and with enough consensus to support and defend you, even from yourself, in achieving them. Isn't this what the whole world needs right now? To get over our envy and fear of ourselves and others, to strive to be more patient, more compassionate, more discressionary, to test and then to trust, to dare to risk in order to gain, to let go of fear and guilt and pain in order to grab hold of joy and share it with all who will share it back... And let the cold of being outside this Joy, be the motivation for those who will not share to risk and join in.
