Well. I hate to admit it, but yes in a way, but you know what? It helps me to understand HIM knowing him and his Mom are so much alike. She's like an animated, caricatured version of him. His Dad is the best guy ever and of course he is like him, too. I love my inlaws but they like all humans have some irksome ways. In counselling, we were told that saying "you're JUST like your Mother (or Father)" is "hitting below the belt," very unfair and not allowable in a fair discussion. Actually, when my husband relates something I do to my Mom or Dad it does feel really unfair, as we are all individuals. Basically, I have to say, yes, girl. I know just what you mean, but I wouldn't love my man as much if he wasn't the man he is, irksome quirks and all.

Simply, he is a product of his family. You need to just get over the fact that he shares similarities with his parents. You have unrealistic expectations, what did you expect?
My husband is somewhat like his parents and I can choose to be driven nuts by the bad attributes OR be thankful for the good ones. Anyone can find the good or bad in any situation, it just depends on what type of person they are.

Nope! I love my husband for who he is, quirks and all. Family traits aside, you have to let those things go and determine if it is worth it. Will this matter to you in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years? When his parents are gone, will you find those traits endearing? A memory to those who you have lost? These are things we pass to our children. Can you stand to see your son do some of these things? Better make sure, this is a life long committment sister!

If my husband was like his mom, I would loose my mind. She is so childish. She has no steady home, no car, no money, no job for more than two months, no real friends, no morals, she's a selfpittying moocher, but what she does have is lots and lots and lots of men and drugs.
