Both matches are between 2 teams with a btter rivalry.
Duke-UNC play each other every year, while the US & Mexico only play occasionally, making it more special.
Duke & UNC are relatively mediocre this year (at least relative to most years), while the US and Mexico are both improving in soccer, so you'll probably see better play in the soccer game.
The Bball game means something besides pride, while the friendly is only about pride. There are no standings or qualifications involved.
Basically, it comes down to whether you like watching soccer or basketball better. Personally, I'll be watching the US trounce Mexico.

Being from North Carolina, I am biased. Duke and UNC are separated by only a few miles. Their athletes even go to the same barber to have their hair cut. The winners get great accolades, the losers are shamed. Their games are annually among the greatest of the year, and it is a rivalry that is unsurpassed in college basketball, ranking among even Boston Red Sox - NY Yankees.

Mexico - USA? I didn't even know we had a soccer team. ;-)

Personally, the Duke-UNC game would be 1000 times more interesting than any soccer match, ever! Duke-UNC is one of the top 5 rivalries of all time, and the best in college basketball. I think most Americans would prefer to watch Duke-UNC as well, however I understand that soccer is the most popular sport worldwide, and there are alot of soccer fans in this country.

mex vs usa sales out the stadium no matter where they play and u get to see international world class players what a foolish comparison
Note: Fact:1 mexican player earns more in 1 year then the whole Duke-north carolina put together. the rivalry between duke and north may be intense but cannot be compared to an international event. are you drunk? drink some coffee maybe you will ask a respectful question.

US v Mexico. Duke and UNC will play agiain maybe twice this year. Not to mention all the timeouts at the end of a basketball game are annoying.

This is a trick question for me but I want the blue ones. Not the red North Carolina ones but the blue North Carolina ones. I'm pretty sure they're not Duke. (right? or no?) ♥

Hoops! I'd rather get a prostate exam than watch a freaking soccer game. And to all the fanatical, Mexican soccer fans.............................U.S.A is going to win, even though I hate soccer
