I don't consider any race to be beneath another. It is a fact that African Americans have not achieved the economic or political power that other groups...many of which were also persecuted...have achieved. There are countless reasons for this....but I think this nation confuses issues of class and race. Since african Americans are more likely to be less well off...and are identified as less well off.....they are often the targets of classicm that is disguised as racism.

I was just discussing with my husband last night what Aaron said. I believe that a lot of people have confused hate of a race for hate of a class. It has more to do with how much money you have then the color of your skin. If I was born into money I would have a much better chance of maiking money, no matter my gender, religion or nationality. But since I was born pretty poor, I am not given as much of a chance. That doesn't mean that I blame anyone for my position in life, I work very hard to keep me and mine going. Maybe one day I'll hit lottery and my son will be set. That would be nice.
As far as blacks being considered a lesser race? You said it, not me, not most of the people of this world.

I have black friends and family and have no prejudice against anyone, but I am curious as how you come to the conclusion that we wouldn't have 75% of our inventions without them. luvnuttydog have you not seen on the discovery channel where they have unearthed findings that show that ancient Egyptians had batteries thousands of years ago? By saying 75% your leaving out the inventions by many others. Every race on this planet has contributed to what we all have, that is the bottom line, and no-one's invention should be said to be better than someone elses as they all help us in our daily lives and contribute to what we enjoy, allthough I wish they had never invented weapons.

1800, Italian-born physicist Alessandro Volta constructed the voltaic pile, later known as the electric battery, the first device to produce a steady electric current. It was Volta, not Franklin, who discovered that certain chemical reactions could produce electricity. Volta also created the first transmission of electricity by linking positively-charged and negatively-charged connectors and driving an electrical charge, or voltage, through them.
SO WITHOUT ALESSANDRO VOLTA THERE WOULD BE NO LIGHTS.

The reason blacks are considered below other's goes back to slavery. Where it was taught nothing came from the african continent and that we couldn't learn or be taught like others enthic groups.

Most of the ships that discovered and sailed to the new world had blacks as pilots. Not the captain of course. It is what the white hate mongers don't want you to know. They are afraid of being so stupid and everyone, especially blacks, surpassing them. The only way they can rise above some one is by putting them down.

You make it sound like what others think matters to us. Do you really believe that I give 2 hoots for what the public thinks of me? Think hard.

people should not be judged by the color of their skin but by the color of their soul. That's from a white person who doesn't believe in racism.
