I want to be a doctor?

im absolutly sure thats what i want to do but i need some information ;

*How much will it cost?
* what GPA will I need in high school?
* what are some good colleges ?


And other things like that if their are any doctors that hoave gone through this I would appriciate you contacting me

High School GPA is not relevant
Although High School GPA that is High 3.7 3.8
and high test scores will allow you to study at a better undergraduate school

Your Collegiate GPA at Undergraduate school will determine your admission to Medical School and it is good to have a Chemistry or Biology Undergraduate degree but not required

some Good Medical Schools:
Johns Hopkins
Duke
University of California San Francisco
Harvard
Stanford

You need a bachelors degree with a GPA of 3.7 or above the higher the better with a minimum of the following courses
in University to take the MCAT exam:

Required ( must have 3.5 average in the following to be competitive)
Chemistry - 2 semesters or 1 year + LAB
Physics 2 semesters or 1 year + LAB
Biology 2 semesters or 1 year + LAB
Organic Chemistry - 2 semesters or 1 year + LAB
Math 2 semesters of Pre-Calculus

Nice to have, but not required
Calculus
Biochemistry
Anatomy and Physiology 2 semesters or 1 year + LAB
Biophysics
Bachelor of Science - Chemistry
Bachelor of Science - Biology or Biochemistry or Physiology

Cost is very high especially for the private schools but there are many ways to get financial aide and loans, another option is to get a Phd and Md and they will offer you a grant for your research and a paid teaching assignment but you must get a Masters in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Physiology before you can apply
