It's black (NOT GOOD!). It's growing on the window sill in my room? How do you kill it?

Like others have recommended, from my experience Bleach is the best way to remove it. Depending on the degree of problem you have something like Softscrub with bleach or Kaboom might be enough to kill it.

To keep it away I recommend getting a dehumidifier. If you have a mold problem there is extra moisture in the area. If it is due to the inside environment the dehumidifier should help keep it away. If it is an outside issue (coming in from the outside on the window frame) you might consider changing the window out or getting it resealed, as this means that you are not getting a proper seal on the window itself. This not only could be causing the mold issue but it Also could be causing energy inefficiencies making your utility bill higher than it needs to be.

Put some full-strength bleach in a spray bottle, and spray it on and around the moldy area, and when the mold disappears wipe up the excess, because if you leave it on for a LONG time (like overnight) the bleach may peel up your varnish or paint.
Then, when it's dry, try to find out how the moisture is coming through your window, and fix it. Most likely, your window "sweats", being warm in your room and cold outside. Circulating air would correct the problem in this case.
To try to keep the mold from coming back, you could wipe up your window on a regular basis, to keep it dry. Also, mold-inhibitor sprays may be found in the hardware store, but they won't work if the moisture continues to be a problem.

It's forming from the condensation on your window. If it is in all of the rooms in your home, then I would get a dehumidifier. If your room is the only room where this occurs, get a smaller dehumidifier once everything is cleaned.

To clean, I am a fan of bleach. However, if it is a wood sill, bleach will damage the wood. I would then use a hair dryer to dry the wood well and spray vinegar on the sill to kill the mold. Dry with hair dryer and wipe up w/damp cloth. Definitely get a dehumidifier if it is growing in wood.

First of all, just because it's black doesn't mean anything. Mildew is also black, so is penicillin. Second of all the solutions are good, but not enough. After you clean you have to use something like Kilz to seal the area. Now, if you don't eliminate the problem it will be back. You obviously have a moisture problem in your room. You need a dehumidifier or a fan. Just something to provide air movement.

Get a bucket of HOT soapy, bleach water and a rag and wipe it out. For real stubborn stains, spray (strong) bleachwater on it and let it sit for an hour or so. you can usually watch it fade away!
