Hot springs occur in places where the earth's crust is exceptionally thin and magma from the mantle warms a body of water. This can result in either a hot spring or a geyser. All of the Geysers in the US are located in Yellowstone national park, and there are many hot springs around the country, but no natural ones in Ohio.

There is also a Hot Springs, SD. Their springs would be considered "luke warm" compared to the hot springs in Arkansas, though.
