I'm 23, and I loved the first Eragon book. I just bought the second one, but I haven't started it yet. When you're reading the book, you would never even be able to tell it was a young 15 year old who wrote it. He really has a talent for writing. It's one of those books that makes you forget that you're reading--you get so engrossed in the story. I read it in about a week. Give it a try! I bet you'll like it. :)

I saw the movie Eragon over Christmas and wanted to see how close the movie was to the actual story so I went out and bought it that day. I just finished it last week.

I am 34 years old and I was very impressed with this novel. Paolini writes at a very mature level. Much more so than some adult authors I have read. I enjoyed the book so much that I now HAVE to get the next book to see where the story goes from there. If you like fantasy lit you will definately like this book.

If you like this type of book - the fantasy world with dragons and magic and the like, go for it. I do like this type, but because I had read and loved Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series way before I picked this one up, I wasn't successful. I may try again someday.

What I do love is how much kids seem to be enjoying the books (former teacher). Of course getting anybody to read is great - so yes, old man, go for it, if not this series, find another! (I hope you know I'm joking about the old man part - I have a few years on you.)

Eragon series are just like the Harry Potter series ( you know, everybody thinks that they are "kid" books but Jk has matured the kids in the books quite enough) Hey, I'm 15 and I swear that the books are very good to read for older people..

TRUST ME!!!!!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!!!

the eldest is the second book and Glaedr will be the third book when it comes out!!! Just to let you know..

I'm 29 and a 4th grade teacher. I enjoyed the books. The writing is not spectacular, but good enough that the story holds it up. If you read the book, don't plan on seeing the movie. It is a worthless piece of garbage!

I would suggest Eragon and Eldest as perfectly suitable reading for adults :)

well actually he was fifteen when he started, he is now 21, or somewhere around there. I am not a particular fan of the books, but you get them from a library (the hardcover is expensive) just to see what the fuss is about.

read the 1st book at 50 so 23 is ok. The book itself isn't bad but very predictable if you've read fantasy genre before.
