It is not impure blood! Your period comes after ovulation when the egg is not fertilized and is released. That is why you bleed. Look it up on the internet. Don't listen to your cousins...every womans body is different...less or more blood has nothing to do with it...

You need to talk to your mom and get her to give you "the talk"...

Periods are not bleeding for a start. They are the body getting rid of your womb lining because you are not having a baby. This is not impure either, its just a natural process although different religions and cultures think about this differently. Everyone is different. Some women have periods that last a couple of days and for some it can be over a week, there is no 'right or wrong' period and you may even find that yours change too as you get older. Please try not to worry. If you want to know more 'facts' about periods maybe speak to a teacher you trust or a youth worker or even your school nurse then you can make up your own mind how you feel... but either way you've got em for life so you may as well just work out how you like to best deal with them and then just try not to let them bother you.

When I first had my period I use to bleed very little and for about 3-4 days. This lasted all the way until my first child. Now I bleed 7 full days (heavily). The body does change over the years so don't worry about it too much hon. As for your cousin..impure blood??? Never heard such nonsense!!

It's not impure blood. It's part of your body's reproductive cycle. The bleeding you experience during your period is nothing more than your body shedding the lining it had prepared in anticipation of a pregnancy. If you do not become pregnant, the lining comes out and your body begins it's cycle over. There is no specific amount of time or quantity that is more acceptable or less acceptable, outside of 2-9 days, and not more than 1 pad per hour. If you're period falls within those guidelines you're fine. But if it's something you're concerned about, or if the bloating and cramping is unbearable, it's best to talk with your Gynecologist.

How much you bleed each month during your period does not matter. How much you bleed depends on how much the lining of your uterus builds up, which is where the blood comes from when it's shed each month. Some women bleed very heavily during their period, and some women don't. Both is normal.

I don't know where your cousins got "impure" blood from, but it's not impure. Bacteria can build up in it once it's hit the air, but that happens with all blood.

Periods are shedding the lining of your uterus. All females are different and the amount and how long you bleed depends on the person.

In my experience, some months are heavy and long and some months are short and light. Bleeding for only 3 days is a blessing so enjoy it!!

If you have just started getting your period for the first time, you probably won't have perfect regular periods during your first year. A lot of femles naturally have inconsitent periods and go on birth control to regulate.

You should start seeing a gynocologist for regular pap smears too. Best of luck.

It is not impure blood, it is tissue from the uterus. A few days after the last day of your period, your uterus starts making itself ready for a potential baby. One of the things that happen, is that the tissue ( the wall / lining of the uterus) gets thicker and the blood vessels provide it with blood. When no conception takes place, this when you dont fall pregnant, your body breaks down this tissue and this is released via the vagina.

So it is not impure blood.

Heavy bleeding can be a problem, as it may lead to anemia, so be careful.

Everyones period is different so it doesn't matter if you bleed a lot or a little. The info your cousins told you is not true. Every month your body builds up a lining in the uterus in preparation for a baby but if there is not fertilized egg to implant then the body gets rid of this lining each month in the form of a period. This happens every month if you are regular and eveyone has different periods and that is normal too.
