I got the wax out of the sink area, but it seems to be stopped up even further down the pip.

I have always used boiling water, from the kettle it should clear it if you pour it down a couple of times. Otherwise I think you will have to take the sink plughole apart.

99% of the time it will get trapped in the sink trap before flowing further down the pipe. All you have to do lady is get under the sink and unscrew the white plastic pipe that is u-shaped and clean it out.

maximum clogs are contained in the catch that keeps gas from coming again up the drain. it really is the position the drain a s turn a caller formed nut loosens it and it should be slid aside to be wiped clean out. Maby boiling water down the drain ought to soften the wax and flush it out.

I agree, boiling water. You may have to repeat several times, expecially if the water won't drain well while you are pouring, as it will likely mix with the cold standing water.

Any scratched-off particle will be carried away with water.
Can you use an opened hanger?
A small size commercial roto-rooter will do the same.

Sorry-
ICE will freeze it and help break it up.
BUT the reality is= you need to remove it and clean it.
Sorry sis.
