My sister has a Dell desktop. She shuts down her computer completely, and then it turns back on after about 10 minutes or less? The only way she can get it to saty off is to unplug it! Any ideas on why it wont stay OFF??

One site tells me change the BIOS settings. How do I do that?

Agree with Gambit. probably a problem with the power switch or possibly even the power supply. There is no bios setting. The only thing I could think of is that recent computers allow what is called Wakeup on LAN. The network card stays on waiting for a certain packet that tells it to turn the computer on. Now, unless you have something on the network to produce that packet(and I really, really doubt you do), it shouldn't turn on. But something could be malfunctioning with that. Go into the bios, and look for a wake up on lan setting. Make sure that that is disabled.

If nothing like this fits, then you might want to go have it looked at.

Could be a problem with the Power button or circuits leading to it... I would take it in and have it looked at.
