My ex-girlfriend's mother has been critizing me lately on my decision on not attending college this semester. She knows that I can't drive to the fact that I suffer from seizures. She says that's no excuse. Recently, my grandma has been diagnosed with a stomach tumor in her stomach, but we're hoping that it isn't a cancerous one. If I told her this, she'll still take it as an excuse. To top it off, she rubs in the fact that her daughter works for Office Depot and is going to 2 schools instead od one. (Community College, and University)

that sucks. it sounds like your ex's mom is a *****. but if she is your EX's mom, why is she still in your life? i would stay away from her if i was you. you really dont need her bringing you down any more right now.

Normally, I'd tell you to just ignore her cuz it's not really any of her business, but so far I am not seeing any good responses from you. I need more info, but right now, you do look like you're full of excuses. I've got an overbearing mother, but sometimes, they do mean well.

Ok, you've got seizures. Are you under doctors orders to stay at home and rest? Still trying to control the seizures to the point where you're constantly going in for tests? That would mean you can't work right and are basically under house arrest? If you can work, why can't you go to school then? Takes less time to go to school actually. So, you should be in school.

Ok, so your grandma has a stomach tumor. Are you especially close with your grandma? Are you the one who's going to have to take care of her if it turns out to be cancer? Otherwise, it's a weak excuse. Do you think your grandma would want you to hold up your life for something that's pretty much out of your control? It'd make her feel worse.

She is just trying to drive home to you the hard fact that life is not an easy plaything. Everybody who achieves something gets it after paying a good price. And sufferings and sacrifices accompanied with lot of pain and hard work seem to be the price. She has her own daughter as an example of a person who is doing very hard work, circumstances notwithstanding. She only probably wishes you to be strong enough to face the situation and avoid an elusive attitude. Get the right message in the right spirit and secure a good payoff. It appears that you are being advised and not criticized. Your 'take' has to be the right one and with positive spirits.

Who cares what she thinks? Exes are exes. We don't care about them anymore, or their haggard old mothers either.
