Straight flush beats 4 of a kind. The highest poker hand is a royal flush which consists of AKQJ10 of the same suit!

Any straight flush beats a 4 of a kind. This rarely happens
Many casinos have bad beat jackpots when this does happen.
They say if you have 4 nines or better and lose the hand, the loser of the hand gets 50% of the jackpot, the winner of the hand gets 25% of the jackpot, and the rest of the table split the remaining 25%
A straight flush is harder to get than a 4 of a kind

Whilst technically a straight flush beats four of a kind,
it doesn't give you the same buzz as having all four suits
of one card on your hand.
If you're playing for money - straight flush wins.
If you just want to show off - then it's four of a kind.
