Because the English language is crazy and has weird rules

Because the English language has been established by the trends in the way people speak. If it became very popular to call moose (plural) as meese. Then meese would eventually become a word meaning the plural of meese.

Use the word "doh". For example, it's now in the dictionary from becoming popular by the use of Homer Simpson in the Simpsons. Then there is that holiday that they came up with in Seinfeld involving an aluminum rod.

Did you think about asking the person that created the word? No. I'm only kidding. That person is long dead.

Why is moose's plural moose and not meese? It's part of the screwed up English language.

It's because the word "meese" is already used to describe the plural of another species.

Haven't you ever watched the "TOM AND JERRY" cartoons ?

What does Tom always say?

"Ooooh - - - I hates them MEESES to pieces!!!"
