I guess the AP would have you believe that Virginia and Florida State are worse than Arizona, Southern Illinois, Alabama, Air Force or Nevada.

"....they are worse than Arizona, Alabama and Nevada. What's your point?" - Birzirk

If Virginia is worse than Arizona, then why did they beat them?

The fact that some of the best teams in the ACC, and I will not doubt that UNC is probably a better team than Virginia, are not the first or second place teams in the conference proves the depth of this conference. There seem to be almost no givens within the conference. Despite their recent loss, I don't think anybody can deny the ability of UNC, or even the x-factor that is Coach K. While they might not be powerhouses, they still remain a force to be reckoned with come tournament time.

That being said, I do believe Virginia should be in the top 25. Having beat Duke, Maryland (twice - an even more difficult feat to repeat in this conference, NC State (by 13), and Clemson, I believe they should be in. Furthermore, their bad losses were early in the season and largely due to a winter break trip gone bad to puerto rico (sickness, the loss of pettinella to a knee injury).

They have fully recovered from these losses and have grown to become a better team. Their recent victories, especially their win streak on the road in the ACC, should be reflected in a top 25 ranking.

Beacuse the Pac 10 is up and down the superior conference. top to bottom. Look at the records of its teams before conference play began. For all ten teams there were only a handful of losses. Their teams only lose consistantly in conference.

Duke is having an off-year for them. They aren't the same powerhouse they once were, so FSU's big win was not all that amazing.

The Pac10 is the deepest and most competitive conference. The record shows that.

Because the ACC is overrated and all the polls and ESPN can't come to the realization that their beloved ACC isn't the best conference in the country so they are lying to themselves and ranking them #1.

because the AP is retarded, they are just guessing if any team thinks it can hang in the ACC besides the teams in the ACC they are wrong, Wissconsin would have like 5 loses in the ACC, ACC teams only lose to other ACC teams cause the games are so hard, thats why im calling it right now Duke over UNC tonight
