im going to visit my girlfriend at college for vday, and i plan on bringing a bottle of wine. what type of snack/dessert would go good with it? nothing too filling, cuz we would have already gone out to eat at this point...i just need someting to get the mood going before bangfest '07 begins.

You can't go wrong with grapes or strawberrys...ie feeding them to each other. You can even get a litle chocolate dip.
Or the ol' fashion cheese and crackers, but the crumbs may be messy.
I'm not sure what kind of wine you'll be drinking, but you can get a Reisling for a good price. They go great with fruit.

May I suggest a Muscat Canelli by Powers Winery, IF you can find it; it's a local wine here in Washington State. Anyway...it's a very fruity, very sweet wine that will go well with practically any dessert. I bet it would go wonderfully with chocolate cake.

If you go with the chocolate strawberries, bring champagne, they go together great. Make sure its not too dry, you want something a little sweeter.....Asti Spumante is good.
