Yes! I have read it several times, and my Mom picked it up and she read it too and she enjoyed it! (this was sometime ago...when it first was published) How cool is that? If you like "Homecoming" you will probably also enjoy "Dicey's Song" --a sequel to Homecoming, and "A Solitary Blue"--which is sort of a companion book to Dicey's Song.

I think 'Blue' was even better then Homecoming. It features one of the minor characters in Homecoming; Jeff, whose mother left his father when Jeff was 7. And relates the difficulities he has with his reclusive college professor father, and a really well written/described section about mental illness: major depression
Ms. Voigt (note the correct spelling) also wrote some other companion books, but I was unable to 'get into them'.

BTW, I just remembered that Dicey's Song won the Newbery Medal (annual award given to the author of the book voted the most distinguished contribution to literature for children published in the United States during the preceding year). And A Solitary Blue was a Newbery Honor book ( a runner up to the award) in the year it was published.

I have read Orson Scott Card's Homecoming series. Never heard of your book. What is about?
