Bad luck.
Benefit fraud is not a serious crime. It's non-violent, so you won't go to jail--that's definite.
If you're working, you'll have to pay the money back. But you can do a deal with the benefit office, and pay it back a bit every week so you don't suffer too much hardship.
If you're NOT working, and you're still claiming, then you'll have weakly deductions taken out of your money till it's all repaid.

Depends on whether they think you intended to defraud or made a genuine mistake, also there is the amount to be taken into account. You might be lucky and get away with just paying it back and a slap on the wrists for being naughty!

Naughty naughty, off to prison you go or a nice big fine. And you will have to pay back all the money took by fraud.

If you're prosecuted for benefit theft,found guilty, you could be fined or get a prison sentence. In all cases, you will have to pay the money back.

If you're in Ontario you'll never qualify for any kind of public assistance again, you may have to pay back what benefits you had and the feds may garenshee your bank account.

you will prob have to pay back all the money you owe and maybe a fine, i would go to cab to get some advice, good luck hun i know how hard it is to live off benefits, somtimes you do need that like bit of extra cash. good luck and try not to worry.

You will be arrested and sentenced for life ha ha nah you`ll have to pay a fine plus maybe a little time or community servive depends how bad the offence.

Whatever happens it wont be enough.I live abroad but still have to pay income tax on my pension at source in the UK so trash like you can steal it

Is that like insurance fraud, you will have a penalty to pay. Do yourself a favor, don't worry until the penalty is announced.

You will be given jail time and if it is your first offense, it will be amended to probation and full restitution of the benefit amount that you were overpaid or not entitled to. (If you are lucky). If not, you could go to jail.
