I am a 24 year old female and have been invited to a tarts and vicars party. I am a size 10 -12 any ideas for a funky costume?

When I was young [many moons ago!], the tarts were the men and the vicars were the women. If you are going as a tart, go as a saloon tart. They are brilliant costumes! Bright, gaudy, easy! You need a corset top, satiny flouncy skirt [pin it up on one side to show one leg off] fishnet tights, heeled ankle boots, garter, feather boa, and lots of sparkly jewellry [the more the better!] Pin your hair up in an untidy but sexy bun [like you do when you have a bath kinda thing] and go and enjoy! And don't forget a fan to hang off your wrist to complete the look. I'm so jeolous of you!!

everyone will be expecting you to dress up like a tart, why not go as a vicar? Or go as a jam tart! not at all what would be expected. Wear a simple plain beige dress, (the pastry!) and a bright red beret, the jam!

You could have a fruit themed outfit (fruit tart, geddit?) but just remember Bridget Jones (the first book/film) and check it's definitely going ahead before you dress up!

Plump yourself up (maybe pillows or something lighter) and go as Vicar of Dibley. Get a short black wig and you're done (you didnt say how tall you are but....it should be ok)

- a cleavage enhancing corset
- feather boa(s)
- extra makeup with exagerated fake eyelashes
- hot pants or for a more classic look a ruffley "can-can" skirt
* note that you could scrimp on a big costume, as long as the cleavage is there most (men, at least) will be looking at that anyway..
