Actually you would refer to this decade as it's full title, "The start of the 2000's", although you could refer to the entire first century of the millennium the same way. As far as I understand there is no other name in use for it and I wouldn't want to call it much else. Next decade will be the Twenty "Ten's", then the Twenty "Twenties" and so on and so forth. As in "The start of the 1900's", 19"10's", 19"20's". Hope I haven't given you a headache.

The noughties.

"In the rest of the English-speaking world "The Noughties" and "The Noughts" have come to be the most widely recognized and accepted terms. The term "Noughties" has been adopted by the BBC, and while the term may not be universal, there is no other term so widely recognized. Probably the only reason that the term Noughties has not been completely accepted world wide is the fact that, in the United States (where usage of naught or nought to mean zero has never been ubiquitous), there is some confusion by those who assume erroneously that the term has something to do with the adjective naughty."

i wonder about that too...the radio station will say playing hits from the 80's 90's and today.

i am guessing it will just be the same as for the 1900's. so it will be the teen years, the 20's, 30's etc.

I have no idea what you're getting at.

If you mean how will we refer to the past decades of the 2000s I would assume the same way, with a 2 in front...2 20's, 2 30's etc,,
