What kind of job can you get with each degree?

There is actually little or no difference between them, just how different schools choose to label their programs. With my degree I had a choice between it saying Political Science or Govt & Politics.....same degree tho.

You have a wide variety of options as many employers don't require a specifice degree focus anymore, just a degree. A few that come to mind quickly are working in the banking, insurance, investment, or accounting fields.

A lot more possibilities with the Finance degree as far as different types of positions that directly relate. Essentially both degrees will have some of the same classes. From a recruiter stand point economics degrees are a lot less demanded unless you have some solid experience to include internships... If you go to a good school, have good grades- a lot of great economics internships are available through government agencies.

I must also say degrees are degrees- getting one or the other is not going to substantially change your life. Only get your foot in the door somewhere. Experience and hard work is what counts!

Pick the one that is of interest to you!

I disagree, there is a difference between them but either one will get you into some identical jobs
Economics tends to lead into economist jobs, analytics, etc
and the economy as a whole (GDP, GNP) more marketing oriented
Finance involves analytics but on the accounting side Acquisitions divestment, investments and measurement of returns.
