Hello,
It's good to buy some books about landscaping before contacting a specialist/designer (very expensive btw). Look also for A good site with ideas and tips. This is one I found: http://www.downloadita.it/r/rd.asp?gid=418.

How fun! The D-I-Y projects in the garden are the best, they turn out exactly how you want. If they don't, you can't blame anyone else! Anyway this website is GREAT for this kind of stuff. Click on the link, and scroll halfway down the page to where it says "seating". It gives you detailed instructions, needed materials, and step-by-step pictures. Good luck!

Oh yes, please do a search on dogpile, you'll find some. Not a lot, but enough to give you a good choice. One good site is http://www.bhg.com Have to deal with a couple of popups, but there is a wealth of information.
Good Luck, enjoy relaxing on the bench once it's done.
