i found alot of free anti-viruses to be a bit rubbish
But i got reccomended to Avast a few years back
And i havnt had a virus since
It is an antivirus and a firewall combined its free just need to register for your free 1 year key. Only downside is having to re-register every year.

If your after Spyware protection i would suggest Spyware blaster and spybot S and D combined. i only get 1 -2 spyware bits a month maximum (hours of web usage a week)

There arent really any free internet security software out there. You have to get several different programs one antivirus and two antispyware and one firewall, or just use window's firewall. This site has them all for free http://www.basicspywaretips.com/

dont down load free stuff(why is it for free)download a good anti virus softwere ie kaspersky, not norton & mcfee.
