Crush the chips, or perhaps moisten them with water to make them soft before feeding your tomato.
By the way, have you ever documented this phenomena on video? Fascinating - I'd like to observe your technique!

I think the best way to solve this problem is to pour the chips into a bowl in front of the tomato. Then place a bottle of ketchup next to the bowl. Instruct the tomato that, if it begins to choke or cough at all, it will start to resemble the ketchup bottle very quickly. Then, to let the tomato know you are not messing around, rub it on your crotch profusely.

Maybe it's not quite old enough for the potato chips yet. Get it started on baby food first, then work up from there.

you can always try to make things smaller and some people can speak perfectly about a subject without giving others too much info to scare them.
what can you deal with giving your tomato?

i think you should dip the potato chips in a liquid to soften the chips so It doesn't choke
