Why do people celebrate Valentine's Day

It's not special to me and I think it's over-rated. I spend the day like it was every other normal day.

i dont need a special day to assert my love for my partner. each and every day is a valentine day for me. since when has people started celebrating this day? isnt this day another face of commercialization? a trick to sell millioons of greeting cards and other small gifts.
well this is my personal opinion. many lovers may feel that this day gives them an opportunity to expess their love, just as they celebrate birthdays and all
anyway, i wish all the lovers in the world a happy valentines day. let each and every day in ur lives be as colorful as the valentines day

VALENTINES day is for LOVERS. However it is also a good money day for businesses. Roses and chocolates are the biggest sellers so naturally it will be heavily promoted to the point where you WILL feel bad if you don't get your significant other a gift.

this valentine's day im going to be on my period. boooooooooo :( but i doubt that will do anything. I actually dont really like it, because i've always been single on valentine's day. and last year, my "present" was giving a HANDJOB in class to a freshman. Ugh. But anyways, this year will be better, because i have a wonderful boyfriend...and im going to buy him some chocolate lube. lol.
