You learn from it, and ask yourself Why, What, How and When to come to a logical conclusion, as in, not to make this mistake again, or not to repeat the behavior that may have caused it.

And, when a conclusion is reached store it in your memory bank so you can avoid a repeat situation.

God in His Holy Book the Bible advises us, not to put our faith in man, Why? Because they will hurt us or cause us much pain, However, we are to put our faith in him, as He Will not Hurt us like mankind can do (From the Evils of man-kind)

That's a tuff one.

When I was younger, I often reacted with anger or else I turned extremely embarrassed and red. After a really bad break-up, where I said lots of things that I shouldn't have (even though I meant them and still do to this day) I realized that my way of coping wasn't helping me at all. My point is: it's no use showing the person who has rejected you how you feel. If this person has done you wrong in some way, you should of course point it out, but other than that, nothing gets better by shouting or crying or anything. I learnt that the hard way.

Nowadays I keep my mouth shut in front of the person who has rejected me. I pop off and let him/her be. Not only does it make me feel better, it is also the only way to make him/her change his/her mind (although one shouldn't hope for that!). I talk to my friends instead, write it out (that's really helpful) and keep myself busy. Eventually, the pain is gone and one is ready to start afresh. :)

I think the way people handle rejection in part has to do with their self-esteem. Personally I have high self-esteem, so when I get rejected I just kick it into over drive. Think borderline conceited.
Here's a few suggestions depending on the situation:
~You're too cute for that jerk who dumped you and he was starting to get on your nerves anyway. He saved you the trouble of having to make the "it's not you, it's me" speach.
~You're boss is an idiot, you're a hard worker, and you're over qualified for your position. You know you deserved that promotion. Careerbuilder.com. Find a company that will appreciate your skills and work ethic.
~The whole office got invited to Betty's wedding but you were snubbed. Now you dont have to buy a new outfit or wedding gift!

I take it far too personally and torment myself with my inadequacies and make a mountain out of the molehill. What can I say - I'm something of a drama queen; I immediately assume the worst. For instance, my thumb hurt. Did it occur to me that it could be sprained? Oh no, it was either cancer of the thumb (yes, I know) or arthritis.

Eventually I get my **** together and regain my grasp on reality.

Or - the other extreme. I don't care in the slightest.

It's hard to say which way I'll swing.

With embarrassment and tears. So I just accept that I'm not desirable and don't put myself in situations that would get me rejected.

HOld your head up high. Have dignity. No outbursts. No saying "your loss" or anything like that. Accept rejection gracefully.

Their loss is someone else's gain.
That's the way I handle it. Oh, you don't like me? Well you are missing out on the best thing ever to walk thru your door---buh bye!

Living well is the best revenge.
