No, it's not a big difference. Men mature later than women so it's a purfect 5.
I date a guy who is 10 years younger than me because I feel his age. But sometimes I feel like his mother... LOL
I can't find a man who will be older than me and as active as I am. For some reason men in late 30, early 40s act like grandpas... LOL
I think when man should be a little older than woman, it's about experience in life. But most of the time it's a personal preference and how old do you feel.
Ask yourself, why do you feel that she is too young? May be you need to change your lifestyle and do something that will make you feel younger? do you feel like you are 59 not 39? Just analize it. How old are you friends? What activities do you like to perform? What age group of people would you like to hang out with?
Always remember: AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, you can keep your body young if your mind is young.
I hope this will help.
Good luck

I'm 23 and my husband is 27...the discrepancy of maturity between two people really depends more on the individuals and not so much their ages. Your wife may seem to act younger than you, but she most likely has had different life experiences that shape her outlook and personality different from yours, and thus her maturity level is different. It would be silly to think that all 34-year-old women behave similar to you wife. Some may even be more mature than you, it just depends on the individual.
We're the same way, my husband sometimes feels I am immature because I am emotional and sometimes a big baby. But that has nothing to do with my age, it's who I am. I probably will always be emotional and a big baby. :)

It's only 5 years, if you think she's so young maybe it's the maturity levels that have a big difference.

It is a definite age difference, but what you may be noticing is more the maturity difference.

Well, since you're already married .... what's the ramification if you decide the answer is yes?
Offhand, given your question and your wife's response, I think she may be right.
