in most websites i see some link called "RSS" even in this yahoo answers webpage its there.

whats it and what does it do?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Its basically an XML file, readable by news and feed readers which allow users of the site to easily track changes and updates to content on the site.

RSS is a web feed which means that you can subscribe to that website giving you new information as it comes in. You can use programs downloaded from the internet to read an RSS subscription or use a web browser (such as firefox) to see the information
