I am facing something very difficult and am wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this or has ever faced anything like this before:

I have been having terrible gastric problems for over a week now. Have even posted on here for advice. Very painful, strong gas, bad diarrhea, stomach pains, etc.

In addition: as of two days ago I am having sudden difficulty with my left hand. I cannot hold anything in it without dropping it, cannot type (I type 85 wpm...always have)...It is as if I my mind will not let my hands do what I am telling them to do.

As I mentioned in my earlier posts about my stomach, I am 2 weeks from my health benefits. I did check...this new company will not consider giving me them any sooner. And I am in no position to go to a doctor before that time.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Stress???

Could there be a connection between the two situations? Which strike me as utterly different and impossible to connect?

Any advice? TY!!!!

Yes there definitely is a connection betqween nerves and gastric distress.
People can get diarrhea from nerves, painful gas, nausea,
Your mind can effect your hand also, sometimes it is just shaking.
Stress is a definite. But it could be something else.

Try eating small well nourished meals. Excercise. get good sleep. Take a multiple vitamin and extra B and C. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Cut back on caffeine drinks. Avoid spicy foods, fatty foods. Practice deep breathing and relax. You didnt say if your were taking anything for any of the problems. Some over the counter thing can interact. Are you on any other medications? If so ask a pharmacist about interactions and other effects that the medications might cause. Good luck and do see a doctor when you can, or before if things get worse.

I have a spinal cord disease called syringomyelia and a spinal cord tumor and one of the ways it has affected me has been gastrointestinal issues. So, yes, there is a connection. Your brain and spinal cord control everything in your body. That means that a problem within one of those places can have very odd effects that may not seem to be caused by a neurological problem, but they are. I hope that you do not have anything serious, but I would get it checked out as soon as you have health insurance. Aren't there any free clinics in your area?

You might be having some gastric problems and the stress and anxiety has affected your nervous system. Try some simple herbal supplements or homeopathic medicines etc. (if you know or if a friend who knows is willing to help, otherwise it costs you a lot of money for consultation).
