She was the wife of John Adams, the second president of the United States and one of the chief architects of the American Revolution (John not her). She spent a great deal of time separated from John during the revolution and the two wrote a number of letters back and forth these have a great deal of historic interest as they show conditions in Philadelphia and Boston during the revolution. She also helped rally the women of Boston to the cause during the American Revolution.
