I recieved an anonymous call saying my brother was killed in an auto accident a few days ago, but no other details. I don't know if I should contact coroner, police, or what? I have not had contact with this brother in 25 years.

Check the obituaries, death records for anyone who was killed in a car accident recently. You could check with the local authorities, hospitals and morgues. I would have to say though an anonymous call isn't the way the authorities would notify the next of kin. Don't get worked up till you talk to someone reliable. Good luck and I wish you the best.

It does seem odd that you would receive an anonymous call regarding the death of your brother. I've included a few sites to obtain death notices as they are public record and can be obtained usually for a small price by anyone. I would also suggest to use google to search for the obituary or accident information.

What's your brother's name? Try looking on the Houston Chronicle website and do a search for his name to see if anything comes up. Or you could call the Houston or Harris County police to see if they can lead you in the right direction. Good luck.

If you have caller ID, do a little searching on the number that called you. Then go from there. If it was legit, I don't know why it would be an anonymous call, as they would want to make sure you didn't think it was fake.

get your brothers number...you can search it online if you know what city and state he lives in..or just call the houston police department

i would call the police see if they know about it.... if he was in an accident there would be a police report....
