2) We had no choice but to invade Iraq.
3) The elections were not stolen.
Quite honestly, I hope you convince me. Please make it brief and/or supply links, I can research further on my own. (As I realize this discussion could take a whole lifetime).

Yes A.Mercer, I get it.
I guess I am looking for an intelligent argument supporting the above. Not empirical evidence.

ThorGirl! You are exactly the kind of person I want to talk to. Please realize - my friend's father was on flight 11. I live in Boston and worked in Manhattan for many years. My dad is a retired Naval Intelligence officer, my brother is a Ranger, my grandfather is buried at Arlington National Cemetary and my uncle was in Vietnam. (Liberals are a diverse group).
I love my country with everything I've got and I hope you understand that. I have been educating myself about what is going on in our government for 6 straight years, non-stop if you ask my fiance. I am always evaluating my viewpoint and that is why I am asking this question. I would love to hear your thoughts and am not looking for an argument.
Thank you for your service to our country and I am sorry about your Uncle.

I have looked at your BIO and you are just a LARGE Lib and NOTHING is going to change that so believe what you will.
I saw the second Plane go in from across the river. MY uncle Died PAPD saving people I left college to Join the Army and Am here In Iraq. I feel sorry for the Lies you Spread.
EDIT then why would your inclination be that OUR government was somehow responsible? They can barely get the mail delivered and you give them credit for any of this? if anything the fact that the Federal government (under Bill, and I am NOT Blaming him) in an act to protect our rights Impeded the transfer of information from the CIA to the FBI. It was a great Idea that fit the Plans of the terrorists. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 perhaps but we went there years after under the UN resolution. NOW the Terrorists are Here and NOT by MY Family IN NY/NJ. Kill snakes in the Pit not in the Field. We are losing the war based on what is good about us our freedoms. If the Nazi's picked up on it we could have lost then too. These people want us dead ( and Perhaps Raped first) believe me I see them everyday, I keep a personal protection piece with me.... I will not live under those conditions---believe me.

Did you not see those airplanes fly into the WTC with your own eyes? And if the Bush administration had something to do with this, then why were 19 known terrorists on board those planes that day? Another thing, instead of having 2 planes fly into the WTC, another one into the Pentagon, and one crash in a field in Pennsylvania. Wouldn't it have been easier to rig the WTC with explosives and make it look like the first bombing of the WTC? The invasion of Iraq was being planned while Clinton was still in office. You don't believe me? Here's the link from1998.

Did you forget about this? Besides, a majority of Democrats voted to go to war as well. Bush is just doing what Congress gave him the power to do.
And the elections? Al Gore might have had the popular vote, but these people didn't get off their asses and go vote. These are the same people that ***** about Bush being the president. Not only did Bush win once, but twice. get over it, he will finish his second term and a new president will take over. Your life has changed in no way. You still do whatever it is you do every day.

Numbers 2 and 3, you're on your own. The elections were stolen, and life would be so much better if we didn't invade Iraq, particularly for innocent Iraqis and our soldiers.
Number one's easy. This lot can't keep a secret to save their lives. Even with a press that fawned all over them for years, we still found out about the Valerie Plame affair and the Downing Street memo, not to mention the intern thing. We don't have any leak, any suspicious document, _nothing_ about them planning and carrying out the 9/11 attacks. We know that they ignored clear evidence that it would occur, but that's about the extent of it. That's plenty criminal enough for my tastes.

1) Our government did have something to do with 9/11. The Pentagon was attacked and the plane that went down in a field was also likely headed for DC.
2) We did have a choice, but invading Iraq appeared to be the better choice based on the UN's impotent resolutions that Saddam continued to thumb his nose at. Do you think that its ok for the supposed voice of the world to be shown up continuously like that further eroding their relevance?
3) Which elections? Election results were, and are, subject to review on many levels and the in last controversial elections every avenue was used up to and including contesting the results to the Supreme Court.
Your side won the mid terms. Rejoice, be happy and quit dwelling on this stuff. You'll be happier.

How do you prove a negative?
You are asking for people to prove to you that something did not happen. If something did not happen, then there will be no proof that something did not happen. The evidence that something happens you can come by, but proof that something did not happen does not exist.
The proper way to do this is prove what events did happen.
If you believe that the government had something to do with 9/11 then what is your proof?
If you believe that the Iraq invasion was a sham, then what is your proof?
If you believe that the elections were stolen, then what is your proof?
The burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
If you do not believe that, then I am the lord of the universe and I now command you and you are my slave. Prove me wrong!

We are in Iraq because of special interests. Bush wanted to get back at Hussein for his assasination attempts at his father when he was president. America does not get involved with a country for the "rights of the people" that is their own governments job. Beacuse if that is the case, Iraq would be the on the bottom of the list. Remeber, money and business is what is important in politics. And all those organizations that say they want to help out a suffering country? all scams. somewhere, somehow, someone is getting paid! remeber that! I know what i am talkin about

Or, maybe, JUST MAYBE, lay off the subject because the whole thing happened 5 freakin years ago. I can't convince you that our government did or did not have anything to do with 9/11. Personally, I don't think so. The elections STOLEN? Honestly, it was better that we had Bush elected. Kerry would have not been able to handle the office during that event. Bush won, get over it.

2) is false - there were other options, its unfortunate the worst option was the one that was chosen.
3) has some marginal validity - bush might have won anyway if the recounts weren't stopped. Thankfully, Katherine Harris has become a laughing stock and is no longer in Congress.
1) The government had nothing to do with 9/11. That's going too far with the conspiracy theories. Sometimes it is what it is. You can blame the government that our foreign policies broguht this on - but not having a hand in it, there is no evidence to support that.

number 2 is false we had no reason to invade Iraq. number 3 is false Bush stole the election especially 2000 when he lost the popular vote and still won. As for 9/11 its hard to believe that it was an inside job but its still something that could be possible. Why won't the government really investigate it to the full extent they can? you won't stop an investigation if you didn't have something to hide.
