Recently i've seen adverts offering numerous megabyte of internet browsing i thought broadband internet speed measured in bytes for second i.e i have 1MB speed at home and 2MB at work, How does this MB of Browsing works?

Perhaps those ads are referring to number of bytes transferred? Many hosting companies will charge for x number of Mbytes over a set limit per month.

However, most people refer to the broadband speed (1.5mbps, etc.) when talking about their broadband connection.

Do you have the company name? Look up their info and see what they're talking about.
