Could our government pay for healthcare, better water quality and lower taxes by taxing the rich?

You damn right they could. Rich people don't pay taxes. Oprah Winfrey has $800,000,000 and she's not even rich according to the superrich. You people don't know you are being screwed. There shouldn't be a dificit. The deficit is what International bankers charge our government to loan them their own money. They claim Iraq might end up costing 750 billion. What do you think they will spend in Iran? Iran is five times larger and a much better opponent. Do you think maybe a couple trillion. Oh, by the way, the International bankers who pull all the strings, they have collectively 300 trillion at their disposal. These are the guys our government pays interest to. The Rothschilds, warburgs and Lazarre. These Jewish bastards could solve all our problems.

You support communism... take from the rich to provide a free ride to the masses. Our country is based on the premise of the ability to succeed. Why punish the people who do? How many immigrants come to this country with nothing, without an understanding of our culture, and sometimes not even speaking our language and set up successful businesses, catapulting them to economic wealth? The reason? They have a wrok ethic and understand that their success in in their own hands, and not the responsibility of the government. Why is it that people in our own country want to whine and complain, when they have been given every advantage and every opportunity to do better? People like you will never succeed in life. Want to know why? Because you're weak, you're a freeloader, and you dismiss your own opportunities. You want a handout rather than making your own way in life. You have luxuries the rest of the world craves, and yet all you do is moan about people who have already figured out what you have not. Make your own way. Your life is your own responsibility, and not the responsibility of the federal government.

Oh, I suppose they could pay for a little of it by taxing the rich, but in the end they would have killed the goose that lays those golden eggs. Take a look at the quality of life in communist countries. It is not accidental that the free capitalistic countries are the wealthiest and nicest.
You should concentrate on improving yourself instead of bubbling over with class envy.

It's easy to demonize the super-rich but (a) the Democrats promise to tax the DuPonts and then they tax doctors and accountants who went to the same high school you did, (b) the money does more good invested in the private sector, creating jobs, than it does funding programs for people who lost their jobs because demand and investment fell because taxes were raised, (c) the government doesn't pay for things - it makes some people pay for things for other people - and that's wrong.

I agree with you.

80 % of the people only control 20 % of the wealth. So I think the 20 % should pay their fair share of taxes and allow for the proper treatment of everyone.
